me & my lobster

Scott was born and raised in Philadelphia just like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. He is the youngest of four and the only boy--needless to say, I think he got quite a bit of attention. Scott was very skinny growing up and would run around in his tightie-whities and watch Saturday morning cartoons while eating a bowl of cereal. One time, he got his hair buzzed very short. His three older sisters started calling him "Concentration Camp" because of his skinny, almost naked, little body and buzz cut. Poor thing.

Scott was an amazing soccer player all through school and was even given a full-ride scholarship to Penn State. He turned it down though, to serve a full-time mission for the church in Bolivia. Right smack in the middle of South America. He loved his mission, the people, the dogs (because Scott loves animals), etc.

I was born in Provo while my parents were at BYU, but was raised in the Santa Clarita Valley about 30 minutes north of Los Angeles. I am the oldest four and the oldest grandchild on both sides of my family. I always had thick, thick hair. My uncles would constantly tease me (though lovingly of course) about it. They would flip my hair into my face and call me, "Cousin It" from the Adaams Family, or they would pick me up by my ankles, dangle me upside down and dunk my hair into the pool.

I did cheer for about three years of high school and dance and gymnastics off and on. (I was terrible at gymnastics :) I visited my grandparents in Singapore twice while they served as Mission Presidents. I count that as a mini-mission since I left the country--though shopping can hardly be considered service.

Scott and I met at BYU-Idaho, Fall 2005. We were in the same ward and both served on the Activities Committee. But we hardly noticed each other. We never talked. One night, Scott had a dream about me. Fun huh? So flattering. He remembers waking up and thinking, "Who is this girl?" He knew he needed to take me out on a date and find out more. He called me one night, introduced himself, and asked me out. I said yes because he sounded so nice, but I did so without really knowing who he was still. As soon as I hung up, I ran to the "Ward Menu" (directory) and looked up this Scott Garrison guy. I was relieved and pleasantly surprised that not only did he sound nice and like a gentleman, but that he was cute too!

We went country dancing at the school in the MC. We talked and laughed and he told me about his pet monkey on his mission. We then walked to the famous Craigo's pizza place--the original, small, college hangout location on West Viking Drive that leads straight up to the school. A Laker game was on, so he learned early to like and root for the Lakers.

The whole date was perfect. So much fun. I couldn't believe that such a wonderful guy was interested in me!
We saw each other every day after that. I was hooked. We dated four months--half of that long distance. Engaged in March 2006. Sealed in the Los Angeles Temple August 26th, 2006.

It's been an awesome five years and I love him more and more each day.

I graduated in December 2008 with a BA in English.
Scott is pursuing his Accounting Degree through ISU and works full-time as a manager for Verizon.

After four years in Idaho, we moved to the sunny state of Florida.
We loved it there and all the fun new friends we met. Not to mention the rad beach!

Our bambino--Jacob Scott Garrison--was born at Holmes Regional Medical Center on June 25, 2011. Needless to say, we luh-hu-huve him.

And now we are off to Tennessee!
Starting a new chapter of our lives with a two month old in the good ol' country.
We're pretty stoked. Y'all keep in touch ya hear? :)
